Class 5 engages with peers in Vietnam
On October 6, 2022, the students of class 5 participated in an educative session with Thu Nugyen, an educator in Vietnam and her students.
The session commenced with traditional greetings from both the ends. The ice broken, the students chatted about the way of life in their countries. The children across the screen described Vietnamese culture, traditions and the uniqueness of their geographical S-shaped map. Our children were thrilled to know that the Vietnamese national flower is also the lotus. The students of both sides also discusse the traditional cuisine, dress, modes of transportation, national emblems etc.
Our students prepared questions for the students based in Vietnam ahead of the session. Some of the queries they had were: What is the weather like? What animals do you have that we don’t? What language do you speak? How do men and women dress? How long is the flight to your country? How do people travel? Have you met people frok our country? Our students then presented a traditional dance and described the festival of Dussehr which was celebrated just a day earlier.
The Skype sessions have greatly influenced and inspired our children to collaborate with schools across the world. Now, our children themselves come up with innovative ideas for the Skype sessions and prepare for them, creatively. They make placards and content to embellish the opportunity, which itself is great learning.
