Class 2B Collaborates with Argentinan students for Christmas

The students of class 2B of The Indian School-Second Shift along with their class teacher, Ms Neelima Oberoi collaborated with educator, Maria Jose Giavedoni from Argentina, on 11 December, 2020. The session was a part of an Xmas Tour organised for the students by their teachers.

It was a delight to see the excitement amongst the students to learn about and observe how Christmas is celebrated in Argentina. They sang carols and showcased the craft and cards made by them for Christmas. The peer educator showed the various decorations that she and her students had prepared for the festival. She also described to the children how Christmas is a celebrated differently in their country using a power point presentation. It included the various sweetmeats that the Argentinians make for Christmas.

Our students also described how the festival is celebrated in India. The students were excited to show their Christmas tree accoutrements as well.

The session greatly helped in developing listening and observation skills amongst the students. It was also an introduction to a new culture and the students lapped up the opportunity!

It was a good experience for our children where they learnt about the culture of a different country on a virtual platform.
