Class 1 plays 'Mystery Animal' on Skype with peers in Vietnam

Education is the foundation upon which we build our future. – Christine Gregoire

Learning across borders greatly stretches the horizons of our little minds and contributes to building global citizens.

On 11 December 2020, the students of class 1 got an opportunity to interact with Mr Chamine Nguyen and his students from Vietnam. The session began with an introduction about India and Vietnam by the students. Our students spoke about the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in India and how as responsible citizens, we are doing their part to control the condition. People are making a habit of wearing masks and following the rules of social distancing. The Vietnamese peers on the other side also shared how they are coping with the pandemic.

This was followed by a discussion on animals. The game of ‘Mystery Animal’ was introduced to the students in an entertaining way. Both the sides were carrying a mystery box with miniature models of different animals in it. The students by turn had to pick out an animal and describe its characteristics to the group across the screen without showing the animal itself! The other side had to guess the animal being described and speak it out aloud. The more vivid the description, the more likelihood of a quick and accurate guess.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the session as they learnt about different animals even as they made friends from a hitherto unfamiliar country.
