Christmas carols with pen pals in Rome - class 3C

Skype sessions provide our students with a wide platform to interact and learn from peers all over the world about cultures and festivities. This year the students of class 3C collaborated with their pen pals at the Istituto Marymount in Rome and their teacher Ms. Amy Bivin on 19th December 2019 to wish each other for Christmas.

The session started with greeting each other and singing Christmas carols. Our students,  dressed  in red Santa caps, holding festive props, enthusiastically presented a self-composed medley of all-time favorite carols like “Twelve days of Christmas”, “Joy to the world”, “Jingle Bells”, “Long time ago in Bethlehem”, “Rudolph the red nose reindeer” and “We wish you a Merry Christmas.” Their peers beyond the screen joined in the carols and even sang songs in French which were thoroughly enjoyed.

The students thanked their friends for the handmade cards exchanged by both the schools in the mail, prior to the session. It was a delight to note that students not only learned about holiday traditions in both the countries but also made a promise of a long term friendship through this collaboration. The story of Christmas was also shared by the students of the guest school.

The children had a great experience comparing and contrasting celebrations. The carols and laughter of the children filled the air with festivity. The session concluded with a promise to continue with this card exchange tradition and collaboration in the festive season.
