Children's Day celebrations held online

“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. Only through right education, can be a better order of society be built up.”

                                                                                     Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru

The Indian School-Second Shift celebrated Children's Day on 12 November 2020, in great fervour, to commemorate the 131st birth anniversary of our country’s first Prime minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. As we know, throughout his political career, Chacha Nehru was an ardent advocate of children’s rights and privileges.

To express their affection, the teachers organised a level-wise online programme that clearly shared the spirit of the occasion.

A multifaceted virtual show was planned on 12 November, 2020 for the students. The meet began with a warm welcome by the comperes of the day who were gaily dressed up to bring smiles on the faces of the young Foundationers . A series of interesting and exciting events was planned meticulously for a complete round of entertainment.

To begin with, Ms. Richa Jain, presented an invocation dance to the popular bhajan  ‘Achyutam Keshavam…’, to lend a positive vibe of serenity to the occasion. The teachers bedazzled everyone with their singing skills in a medley, perfectly capturing the innocence of childhood in their string of songs.

As Carl Sandburg states, “Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance”, Mr. Dinesh, in his mesmerising poem, expressed his regard for the students.

Next the teachers choreographed an endearing dance performance. Childhood memories remain incomplete without stories of us us playing and losing ourselves in the fun. To make sure that our children do not miss out on this, teachers at their respective levels played a game, ‘Guess Who!’   to keep the mysterious element alive. The students were taken on a virtual tour to revisit some memorable moments spent in great joy at School. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and expressed their gratitude with a short speech to thank their wonderful teachers.

At the end, each one was bestowed with an exciting title! The excitement was infectious. The celebration came to an end with some words of wisdom and recorded messages from the teachers.
