The Indian School – Second Shift conducted a special assembly on Tuesday, 24th December 2024 on the occasion of Christmas. The assembly commenced with a brief introduction to the festival and how it is celebrated. The children of class 1 and 2 dressed as Santa sang carols confidently and enthusiastically. The students of Pre Primary presented a 'show and tell' activity, dressed up as a Christmas tree, Santa Claus and reindeer etc. The Pre Schoolers danced to the song “Hey Santa”. The children of class 5 sang carols which had the audience squeal in delight. The students listened in awe to the story of the birth of Christ.
Headmistress Ms Sanjeeta Roy spoke about the values of Christmas as children listened intently
.
Christmas festivities ignited with exciting games like Secret Santa, an exchange of ggifts and games which were greatly enjoyed. The medals were also given to the Olympiad winners on this auspicious day. Through this celebration the children learnt that we have all been handed the precious gifts of hope, peace, joy and love and we must, in turn hand them around to those less beholden.
The performers and the audience equally enjoyed the day, taking away in fair share the enduring message of Christmas – Sharing and Caring.
