Celebrating National Sports Day across the classes

School hosted a lively assembly on National Sports Day, celebrating the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, India's legendary hockey player. The programme commenced with an introduction that underscored the significance of sports, followed by an inspiring talk on Major Dhyan Chand’s remarkable legacy.

A thought of the day emphasising the role of sports in everyday life encouraged everyone to embrace an active lifestyle. The energy of the assembly was further elevated by a dynamic dance performance to the song “Dangal,” filling the hall with excitement and enthusiasm.

Students from classes II to VI took the stage next, presenting a coordinated Mass PT routine that showcased their discipline and teamwork. Their seamless movements embodied the very spirit of sportsmanship and cooperation.

To foster engagement, a sports quiz challenged students’ knowledge and sparked curiosity about the world of athletics. Following this, everyone took a pledge, committing to stay fit, healthy, and promote sporting values.

Our Headmistress Ms Sanjeeta Roy delivered a motivating address, spotlighting how sports shape character and contribute to holistic development. Her words resonated with all those present, reinforcing the idea that participation in sports goes beyond physical fitness.

To conclude the celebration, the entire School united in singing the School song, marking the end of an inspiring day that honoured Major Dhyan Chand and invigorated the students to engage actively in sports.

The assembly was not just a tribute—it was a spirited call to embrace sports and a healthy lifestyle for personal and communal growth.
