A two-day CBSE workshop on Classroom Management was organised at our School on 27 and 28 June, 2017 in the auditorium. It was conducted by resource persons, Sh. Madan Sahwney and Dr. Shiksha who enlightened the teachers with tips for effective classroom management.
The workshop focused on the elements of classroom management which include content management, conduct management and covenant management. Various activities were undertaken to illustrate these elements. The teachers also got a chance to display their ideas of Dream Classrooms fitted with the latest facilities.
[gallery link="none" ids="11167,11168,11169"]Mr. Sahwney then highlighted the importance of management in the absence of such facilities. He emphasised that there are innovative methods of teaching that are available at hand and teachers should be curious enough to find and use them. The responsibilities of the teacher must be parallel to the creative minds of the children. Teachers also have the added responsibility of understanding the growing and animated thought- process of the child.
There was emphasis on addressing the concerns of students and reducing stress by substituting punishments with consequences.
The workshop was an interactive one which helped the teachers devise innovative strategies to be applied in real classroom situations. Overall, it was an excellent refresher for the teachers.
