The workshop dwelled on the aspects of creativity and imagination and how to use these in our day to day teaching; the objective being to break the monotony and add fun into the classroom. Various ideas were discussed on how even a small activity done creatively can make a lesson and its assimilation so much more robust. As someone out it ' It taught us to give wings to a childs imagination and then watch him make wonders.'
One of the highlights of the session was to teach the difference between creative teaching and teaching for creativity. Numerous hands'-on activities were organised to explain the importance and need for this skill in our classrooms. It is useful for the childs all round development.
At the end of the workshop, teachers were oriented to collaborate with other subject teachers to create a lesson plan as a cross curricular project. This workshop will be followed by the execution of integrated lesson plans in the classroom. After which, there will be reflection module in February.
The workshop was an amazing learning experience. It had every aspect of making learning fun. We earnestly expect to implement all the learning in our classrooms to make a difference and incorporate fun for our children too!
