Awareness workshop on Protecting children from Covid and building immunity

According to Article 47 of the constitution of India it is the duty of the State to raise the level of nutrition and the standard of living and to improve public health. Considering the same, South District Legal Services Authority (DLSA South) organised an online awareness programme on the topic “Prevention and Protection of Children from Covid and Developing Immunity in the Children” for all schools of Zone 23, South District, Delhi (including Principals, Teachers, Students & Parents) on 7th January 2022 at 3 PM. Teachers, students and parents of The Indian School- Second Shift participated in the live event.
Ms. Prakshi Aggarwal, Law Researcher, DLSA (South) was the moderator at the programme. Dr. Ashok Kumar Tyagi, Deputy Director of Education, Zone 23, South District delivered the inaugural address. Ms. Nabeela Wali, Secretary, DLSA (South) convened the programme and also delivered the keynote address.
Dr. P.S. Narang, pediatrician, Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh was the resource person of the programme. Considering the threat of the virus, he discussed the guidelines of the WHO and precautions to be taken by parents to protect children. He discussed the elements of a nutritious diet and about micronutrient deficiency in infants and children. The resource person also explained how to build a child's immunity and the role of iron and Vitamin-D. All participants had an open platform to pose questions pertaining to the topic.
The programme was live on the DSLSA Youtube channel with an audience of 2,500 students/teachers and parents who attended the programme. The resource was immensely helpful for everyone to become alert about necessary precautions at all levels.
