Assembly on World Doctors' Day
On the occasion of World Doctors' Day, 1 July'26, The Indian School-Second Shift held a Health and Wellness Workshop for the students of Classes V to X. The session aimed to promote awareness about healthy living, disease prevention, and the importance of maintaining physical and mental well-being.
The workshop was conducted by Dr Akhilesh Mishra, Professor of Radiation Oncology, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, who served as our chief guest. He explained the significance of World Doctors' Day and highlighted the vital role that doctors play in improving and protecting public health.
Dr Mishra spoke on various topics, including human growth and development, personal and environmental hygiene, infections caused by pets and domestic animals, respiratory tract infections, and the importance of cleanliness in preventing diseases. He also discussed cancer awareness, explaining its types, early symptoms, the role of the immune system, and the use of radiation therapy in treatment.
In addition, Dr Mishra addressed HIV, coma and brain death, Hantavirus, and shared valuable insights into disease prevention and healthy lifestyle practices.
The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where students enthusiastically participated posed their queries to Dr Mishra. The session was highly informative and inspired students to adopt healthier habits while appreciating the dedicated service of medical professionals.
Overall, the workshop was an enriching and memorable learning experience that successfully encouraged health awareness and responsible living among the students.
