Artistic expression across the classes on Janamashtami

On 17.8.24, The Indian School-Second Shift organised an inter-house competition to foster creativity on the occasion of Janamashtami and to promote a love for art among students. The competitions included card making and designing wall hangings

The event aimed to engage students in expressing their creativity while learning about the significance of the festival. Students of  classes 1-5 participated in the card making activity in great enthusiasm. Classes 6-10 participated in a wall-hanging activity. The classroom was abuzz with excitement as students worked on their projects, using vibrant colours, glitter, beads, and other decorative materials. The wall hanging activity was equally engaging, with students creating beautiful decorations inspired by traditional Indian art. Many chose to create peacock feather designs, symbols of Lord Krishna, while others crafted intricate patterns of the flute, the cow and flowers.

The use of eco-friendly materials was encouraged, promoting sustainability alongside creativity. The teachers guided the students through the session, offering tips on design and technique. The atmosphere was filled with joy as students shared ideas and helped each other, reflecting the spirit of teamwork and collaboration.

The best creations were selected by the judges and awarded special prizes.

The Janamashtami card making and wall hanging activity was a wonderful blend of art, culture, and learning. It allowed students to connect with the festival in a meaningful way while showcasing their artistic talent.
