Art Integration with Hindi
"Let them be little. Fill their hearts with laughter. Help them grow wings. Nurture their sense of wonder. Inspire them to believe. Love them like there’s no tomorrow”- Anonymous
The purpose of storytelling is not to tell us how to think but to pose questions to think upon, proving to be an effective communication tool. An Art integrated story-telling class was organised for class 3 by the Hindi teachers on 27th November 2020.
The unique approach was an effective way to communicate with the students in contexts that they easily relate to. We made props and wore masks of the characters in the story and this added greatly to the narration.
The story of - ‘Bandar Baant’, infused with circumstantial life-skill learning, imagination and expression introduced the children to new horizons of storytelling.
Students participated in the session with curious expressions of disbelief, acceptance, appreciation and agreement. Occasionally a volunteer excitedly sought to lead the story onwards! The imagination stretched as also articulation and value learning. The moral of the story qas effectively ingrained- How to be cautious, if someone tries to take advantage of a certain situation.
As they say, education is not just about learning facts but the training of the mind to think. Overall, it was a great learning experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by the children.
