Adventure Camp for classes Pre school to 2
"You must go on adventures to find out where you truly belong." Sue Fitzmaurice
Adventure aims at increasing productivity, encourages students to work in different working environments, and builds team spirit, friendship, and trust amongst each other.
A student’s journey through an academic session is incomplete without some co-curricular fun activities. Keeping this in mind, The Indian School-Second Shift held an adventure camp on the School playground on 22 March, 2023 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It was conducted under the guidance of experienced instructors who ensured the safety of the students.
The primary objective of the adventure camp was to provide students with an opportunity to learn new skills, overcome their fears, develop teamwork and leadership qualities. Various activities at the camp included rock climbing, rappelling, zip-lining, Burma Bridge, ladder walk, parallel rope walking, tyre wall, trampoline, balance beam and river crossing.
The rock climbing and rappelling activities were conducted on a rock wall. The students were provided with safety equipments and oriented by experienced instructors before attempting the exercise. Similarly, students were harnessed to a cable and propelled down a slope during the zip-lining activity. Zip-lining was one of the most exciting activities during the camp.
The Burma Bridge activity involved crossing a suspension bridge while balancing on a rope or cable, and river crossing involved crossing a body of water using a rope or cable.
The adventure camp was a great success. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activities. The experience helped them overcome their fears, develop teamwork and leadership qualities and create memories to last a lifetime.
The camp concluded with unforgettable memories.
