A shared virtual Christmas with Kenyan peers for classes 5A and 6B

“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind.

“To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy is to have the real.”

Students of classes 5A and 6B celebrated Christmas virtually with their counterparts of the Rosslyn Academy in Nairobi, Kenya on 9th December 2021. This Christmas celebration was unique and packed with fervour and enthusiasm.

After the customary greetings, the two groups interacted with each other. The joy of celebrating this festival was evident on the faces of each child.

The Indianites showcased stories woven around the Christmas spirit. They also showcased their handmade Christmas cards and their Christmas tree filled with hand crafted ornaments made specially for their online guests. The students also shared how Christmas is celebrated in India.

The students in  Nairobi apprised the Indianites about Christ and the significance of Christmas. They sang carols followed by a group dance. In the end, all the students wished each other a merry Christmas and a healthy and fabulous new year!

It was an educative experience for all the students. This interactive and informative session exposed students to the culture and traditions of Kenya. It was particularly interesting to observe the eagerness amongst our students to know more about children like themselves in Nairobi. It was a novel introduction to peers in a less familiar culture.
