Pre-primary students were taken to watch, the movie, Jungle Book in a nearby cineplex on 11 August, 2016. The objective of the excursion was to enable the children to learn social and language skills in an entertaining medium. We have found that outings like these also teach our young ones how to conduct themselves amidst other people. The movie also provided an opportunity filled with entertainment for them to pick up skills in English.
[gallery link="none" ids="7627,7628,7629"]The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling tells the tale of Mowgli, a young boy, who, strays from his village and ends up being taken in by a pack of wolves.Th children were captivated by Mowgli, a little human child just like any of them, living among these creatures of the forest and adapting to jungle life so easily!
The outing was a great success and the children enjoyed themselves immensely. Popcorn and a drink were the cherry on the cake and relished! We intend to include more such exercises in edutainment in the curriculum to make the learning continuously exciting.
