11th National Voters' Day Celebrations

Focusing on the theme, ‘Making our Voters Empowered, Vigilant, Safe and Informed’, the 11th National Voters’ Day was observed at The Indian School-Second Shift with gravity and seriousness befitting the occasion. To facilitate an enhanced participation by eligible voters, an online meeting was held for staff members to take the ‘Voters’ Pledge’. Head Mistress, Ms Rajika Dixit, reminded the teachers of their role in building future citizens.

The significance of the occasion is the need to entreat the youth to actively embrace their responsibility in every earnest. With this in mind, classes V-VIII took the opportunity to discuss the importance of voting and the need to exercise the right carefully, with the help of presentations and videos.

Quizzes were conducted at the Middle School level to sensitise students about their duties alongside the rights that their nation provides. To bring out  creative expression amongst the students and also to gauge the awareness quotient, poster making and slogan writing activities were organised for classes V and VI. A debate was held for classes VII and VIII where the students elaborated upon the need of and the qualities of the 'right leader' and the power of each vote.

The young debaters astonished the social science teachers with remarkable performances and interesting perspectives.
