THE INDIAN SCHOOL SECOND SHIFT plays Holi
“A day full of colours! A day full of excitement! A day full of wishes! Yes, it’s Holi! A day to rejoice in love! Happy Holi”
Holi the festival of colours, is one of the most important festivals in India and is celebrated with great pomp and fervour. A day before Holi, Holika is burnt to remove negativity and bring the colours of positivity into our lives. The dominant idea behind Holi is to spread the message of harmony.
To celebrate this festival of colours, the students of Pre School and Pre Primary conducted a special assembly virtually and physically. The significance of the festival was discussed wherein a skit was performed to convey the precautions to be taken while playing Holi. A mesmerising dance by the tiny tots was also worth a watch. They expressed their love by applying dry colours to the foreheads of those at home.
The children made beautiful cards with spray paint using poster colours. They used these cards to greet the members of their families and classmates as a token of love.
Emphasising upon the need for precaution and safety, the students were made aware of herbal colours made with natural flowers which are dried and ground to powder. They were reminded to play a safe Holi using natural colours instead of chemical colours. The students reflected upon the wastage of water during Holi celebrations and pledged to play a dry Holi instead.
The celebration ended on a note of high spirit and energy with fun-filled Holi songs and rhymes. The ambience added to the festive spirit. It was a joyful celebration of Holi
