Literary week- 21st -25th April 2014

Knowledge is wisdom, awareness is enlightenment

The literary week from 21st - 25th April, organized at The Indian School-Second Shift was to develop good verbal and written skills in communication among students. Activities were planned keeping the theme of the year in view. The states in focus were Kerala & Maharashtra. The tiny tots of the Pre Primary enjoyed a story telling session, visited the AV room to watch a video of the coconut song and learnt to sing along. Show and Tell, coloring and cut and paste tapped on their creativity. [gallery ids="1725,1726,1727"] For the students of class I, the bulletin boards in the corridors and classrooms gave them a glimpse of Gods Own Country. A folk tale from Kerala about the tailor and an elephant was narrated in the class and based on that, book cover making, pictorial depiction and mask making were done. Shivaji the Icon of Maharashtra was the topic for Class II. Story telling sessions about the Chatrapthi his warfare tactics and strategies were discussed and enacted. Other activities included making of a concept map, dramatization and a worksheet.
