“Dance is the hidden language of the Soul.”
- Martha Graham
Dance enjoys an undisputed importance in the life of a kindergardener. It is an integral part of the learning process, strengthening motor skills with rhythm.
In this direction, the Pre-Primary classes of The Indian School-Second Shift held a dance presentation, ‘Happy Feet’ on 20th September, 2019 in the School auditorium. Decorations gaily fluttered in the hall lending a festive ambience. The children dressed in their colourful ethnic attire readily complemented their surrounding and the place was infused with enthusiasm.
The School theme, ‘ States along the East Coast of India’ set the stage for a set of scintillating dances performed by the students of Pre-Primary.
PP Swan began with the Sambalpuri dance of Odisha. The children handled their colourful props skillfully and matched their steps to the local song. Next were the girls of Pre-Primary Dove, who were dressed in the traditional Bengali red bordered sarees and big red bindis for a Santhal dance presentation. The students of PP Canary performed the Kumi folk dance from Tamil Nadu.
The confidence, dedication and enthusiasm of the young performers was appreciated by one and all present in the auditorium. The gleaming faces displayed a sense of joy in the achievement.
