Essay writing through the eyes of a tree
The Department of School Education and Literacy vide D.O No. 10-1/2024-EE.12(Eco Clubs)- Part 1 dated 04.06.2024, has suggested an activity titled “A Living Witness: An essay through the Eyes of a Tree” for fostering deeper connect with nature. The activity entails children exploring their local environment to identify the oldest existing tree. The children will then analyse the tree’s role in the ecosystem, understanding its contribution to bio diversity and habitat preservation. The students will then write an essay from the perspective of the oldest tree in the eco system.
The students can write the essay in English, Hindi or their mother tongue. The word limit is 500 words. Students can be encouraged to write essays in these categories: Classes III-V, Classes VI-VIII and Classes IX-XII.
